About Us

We are the Human Powered Vehicle Team consisting of undergraduate students who aim to give the world an alternative solution to the present-day energy crisis.

We study, design, develop, and manufacture the fully-faired recumbent bikes and trikes which can reach up to the highest speeds of 60 kmph solely by human power!!! The team rigorously researches about the human-powered vehicles and uses the best possible design, the best possible techniques, and the best possible materials for manufacturing.

From building fairing completely from carbon fiber to incorporating the internationally acclaimed landing gear system in the vehicle, Team Raftaar is redefining the way human-powered vehicles are perceived in India. Our unique manufacturing style, innovative design, detailed analysis, and advanced use of composites have been appreciated and awarded multiple times both in National and international competitions.

With each passing year, we as a team are getting closer and closer to our ultimate ambition of bringing HPVs closer to the everyday commuters as a sustainable alternative to other conventional modes of transport.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Team Raftaar is the first Indian Human Powered Vehicle team to design and fabricate a Metal-Free Human Powered Vehicle.

Team Raftaar has secured 2nd position in analysis, 6th position in Design event and 6th position in Men Drag event at ASME E-fest, HPVC 2020 Asia-Pacific hosted by Marwadi university, Rajkot.
Secured 1st position in analysis and 5th in design in ASME E fest 2019 at VIT Vellore.
Winners of the innovation category at ASME E-Fest HPVC 2018 North America at Pennsylvania state university, USA. Also secured the 5th position in design.
Secured 1st position in m and women drag race and 3rd position in design at ASME HPVC Asia pacific 2018.Also secured the overall runners up position.
Overall winners of the ASME HPVC Asia Pacific 2015 and 2017.
Secured overall 12th position in ASME HPVC North America west 2016.
Successfully built the fastest human powered vehicle in India with a top speed of 80 kmph.
